Major classes present in toxicology

Opioid sub-classes present in toxicology among opioid-positive decedents

1. 4-ANPP is a metabolite of both fentanyl and fentanyl analogs.

2. Designer opioids include fentanyl analogs and other nonprescription synthetic opioids such as U4770.

3. Morphine is separated from pharmaceutical opioids as it is also a metabolite of illicit opioids such as heroin.

Deaths were listed under all relevant drug categories. For example, a death involving fentanyl and heroin will be included in both counts.
