4-ANPP is a metabolite of both fentanyl and fentanyl analogs.
Designer opioids include fentanyl analogs and other nonprescription synthetic opioids such as U4770.
Morphine is separated from pharmaceutical opioids as it is also a metabolite of illicit opioids such as heroin.
Deaths were listed under all relevant drug categories. For example, a death involving fentanyl and heroin will be included in both counts.
