It is a silent killer plaguing veterans here in the Commonwealth.
“Veterans make up about eight percent of the adult population in the state for the study’s time period, and their representation among suicide deaths were disproportionate, though. They were at 13 percent,” said Dr. Sabrina Brown, a researcher with the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC).
KIPRC conducts research on a multitude of topics, including those who have faced trauma, like combat veterans.
