Dr. Stamatiadis is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Stamatiadis’ research program addresses the need for developing solutions that aim to improve roadway safety and develop a roadway environment that promotes designs consistent with driver expectations. His work has focused on the issues of older and younger drivers and identifying means for improving their safety performance as well as on identifying issues of commercial drivers that could improve their safety. His research efforts have also focused on determining means to enhance safety in roadway design.

Dr. Stamatiadis has promoted the concept of Quasi-Induced Exposure as an alternative means of estimating driver crash exposure metrics. He has 80 peer reviewed journal and more that 150 conference publications along with more than 100 reports and 200 presentations at regional, national and international conferences.
