Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths, emergency department visits, and inpatient hospitalizations among adults age 65 and older in Kentucky. Older adult falls are a public health concern that is preventable.

Since 2010, the Kentucky Safe Aging Coalition (the Kentucky Safety Prevention and Alignment Network’s Falls Prevention Committee), Kentucky Department for Public Health, Kentucky Department for Aging and Independent Living, Kentucky Safety and Prevention Alignment Network, and the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center have hosted an annual Falls and Osteoporosis Summit, open to all fall prevention professionals, to provide education and networking opportunities to participants.

We’re excited to include speakers this year on a variety of topics meant to enhance our understanding of ways to support older adults in aging gracefully. RSVP at tinyurl.com/xexwx9zf for the Virtual 2021 Kentucky Falls and Osteoporosis Summit to be held Thursday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can find the program agenda here https://kspan.egnyte.com/dl/azx60ld3Qq .
