Falls and Fractures in Nursing Homes: A Legal PerspectivePresenter: Hannah Jamison has represented hundreds of clients across all parts of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Prior to joining Circeo Law Firm, P.S.C., at its inception, Hannah worked for Wilkes & McHugh, P.A., and Landrum & Shouse, PLLC, both in Lexington, Kentucky. She has worked on both the plaintiff side and the defense side and has experience working on many different types of cases, including nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, corporate negligence, wrongful death, products liability, slip and falls, trucking accidents, car accidents, oil and gas litigation, and class action lawsuits. Hannah has obtained millions of dollars in settlements on behalf of her clients and has participated in several trials, including a nursing home negligence trial which resulted in a seven-figure verdict for the client. |

Fall Prevention Plus Balance and Tai ChiPresenter: Jessica Shields is a personal trainer specializing in senior fitness. Ms. Shields is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and holds a Bachelor Degree in Fitness and Sports Medicine. Ms. Shields is a lifelong martial arts enthusiast and holds a second degree black belt in Taekwondo. Ms. Shields primary interest lies in preventive medicine which lead her to obtaining teaching certifications in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention as well as other certifications in Tai Chi and Qigong. Ms. Shields is the Wellness Center Specialist at the Campbell County Senior and Wellness Center in Highland Heights, Kentucky where she has been guiding seniors on the path to better health since 2018. |

Successful Management of Bathroom Related FallsPresenter: Dr. Elizabeth Levay is a Kentucky native and graduate of Bellarmine University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and holds a PhD in Health Professions Education. She is 1 of 10 Board-Certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialists in Kentucky. Her clinical area of interest includes treatment of pelvic pain conditions, male pelvic health, gender affirming care, and sexual wellness. She also serves as the Kentucky State Representative for the Academy of Pelvic Health and has recently been nominated for the Academy of Pelvic Health’s Emerging Leader Award. Dr. Levay is an assistant professor at Bellarmine University, where she teaches a variety of courses related to musculoskeletal, research, and pelvic health content. In conjunction with Bellarmine, Dr. Levay serves as the site coordinator for the Balance & Falls Service-Learning Clinic at the Thrive Center in downtown Louisville. |

The Cost of FallsPresenter: Dr. Alexis Nickols is a trauma and emergency surgeon at the University of Kentucky. She completed medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, general surgery residency at the University of Louisville, and critical care fellowship at the University of Michigan. She has also completed a Master's degree in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her academic interests include injury and violence prevention through community engagement and collaboration. |

A Review of Assistance and SupportPresenter: Dr. Roy Tapp is the Coordinator of the Kentucky Safe Aging Coalition. He has over four decades of experience in public safety and actively conducts on-site/virtual presentations to share updates on best practices regarding fall prevention and osteoporosis. Dr. Tapp discussed “Ways to Prevent Home Falls” which was aired on Healthy Aging: A KET Forum on June 3rd. |
