Sarah Hargrove is the Program Manager for the Kentucky Drug Overdose Fatality Surveillance System (DOFSS) at the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC). DOFSS is a comprehensive surveillance system that utilizes multiple data sources, including: death certificates, autopsy reports, toxicology reports, coroner investigation reports, prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) reports, law enforcement reports, EMS records, and other medical records. This robust system allows for a more complete picture of fatal overdoses and allow for data to be used for action.

Sarah received her Master of Science in Forensic Sciences from George Washington University and her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Marquette University. Before joining KIPRC in December of 2014, Sarah worked at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) as a Forensic Autopsy Technician for 3 years. Sarah’s position is physically located in Louisville at the OCME where she works closely with the Chief Medical Examiner and staff.
