Terry Bunn, PhD, is the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center Director, and a Professor, Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health, at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Bunn has been a faculty member at KIPRC since 2005 and director since 2010. Her research interests are in the areas of occupational injury prevention, and drug overdose prevention, particularly substance use disorder treatment and recovery interventions. She has 66 injury prevention peer-reviewed publications and several trade journal publications.

Dr. Bunn has collaborated on numerous multidisciplinary and multistate research studies and served in national and state leadership roles in the NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors; National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities (TWU) Council member; Society for the Advancement of Violence and Injury Research’s (SAVIR) Council of Centers; Southeastern Occupational Health Network (SouthON); CSTE occupational health workgroup; Governor’s Executive Committee on Highway Safety (GECHS); and Ky Traffic Records Advisory Committee (KTRAC).

She is the Principal Investigator of the NIOSH-funded Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Surveillance program, and Co-Principal Investigator of the CDC National Center for Injury Prevention and Control –funded of the Overdose Data to Action Program.
